Greater Washington DC ARMA Chapter’s Privacy Policy:

The GWDC Chapter of ARMA International has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our commitment to privacy for our membership and web site users. The following paragraphs disclose our information gathering and dissemination practices. Should you have questions, comments or concerns please contact the Chapter via the methods listed below.

Personal Information

The Chapter’s primary goal is to provide records and information resources and services in a manner that’s most convenient to you. Generally, you can visit the GWDC Web site without revealing any personal information about yourself. There are times, however, when we may need information from you. Personal information like your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address is obtained only when voluntarily submitted, such as when you respond to surveys or register for programs or events. Information that you supply will relate to the customer relationship that GWDC ARMA has with you or your organization.

How We Will Use It

If you choose to provide personal information to the Chapter, we intend to let you know how that information will be used. GWDC ARMA will use your personal information to fulfill orders for materials and services made online and to provide other services you request. GWDC ARMA may also collect personal information in order to respond to inquiries made by you. We may also use the information you supply to:

• Make the Web site easier for you to use by not having to enter information more than once

• Help us customize content most relevant to you

• Notify you about important news concerning GWDC ARMA, including new services as well as association announcements

In the process of administering our site, we maintain and track usage through Web server logs. Web server logs provide such information as:

• What types of browsers are accessing our site

• What pages receive high traffic

• The times of day our servers experience significant load.

We use this information to improve the content and navigation features of our site. It is not used to personally identify you.

How We Share It

We will not sell, rent, or lease to others, addresses, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses. We will share the personal data you provide only with other ARMA entities and/or business partners who are acting on our behalf for the uses described above, except as provided below (see Consent).

The Chapter requires persons, companies and organizations to which it discloses personal information to restrict their use of such information to the purposes for which it has been provided by GWDC ARMA and not to disclose that information to others. The Chapter cannot be responsible, however, for any damages caused by the failure of unaffiliated third parties to honor their privacy obligations to the Chapter. Similarly, the Chapter is not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other web sites that are? linked to ours.

How to Review/Revise It

The GWDC Chapter reviews and updates its information primarily from ARMA International’s contact management data. Members of ARMA International may review and make changes to their personally identifiable information in the online Your Membership area, using the Update Profile option. You may also contact GWDC’s Membership chair for additional information.

Consent

GWDC ARMA will use and share the personally identifiable information you provide to us in ways related to those described above. We reserve the right to disclose any and all pertinent customer information to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate.

Our Commitment to Data Security

GWDC ARMA is concerned about the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We use industry standard SSL encryption technology when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information, and we do not store credit card data on our servers.

Ownership of the contents and design of the GWDC ARMA Chapter web site. resides with the GWDC ARMA Chapter. Articles and presentations are posted on the web site. or attached by a link with the permission of the author. Reproduction of the material for commercial purposes is prohibited. Obtaining consent of the creator for use of their materials is solely the requestor’s and must be obtained prior to use.
Pictures, photographs and graphics on the Members Photos pages shall not be used for any brochure, advertisement, brochure, commercial or purposed or activities relating to sale or promotion of any product or services. Pictures, photographs and graphics may not be cropped, copied or reproduced.
